Deanne grew up on a farm in Northern Utah. She spent her days enjoying the space and freedom of living in a small community. In her front yard were mountains and the back yard a large river. Her closet neighbor was a block away.
Deanne's parents encouraged education. Her family took many roads trips, always visiting a state capital and museum. She enjoyed seeing new places, reading maps and dreaming of new places to visit.
Deanne is a graduate of Utah State University in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. She taught 27 years in the Box Elder School District. Deanne has taught kindergarten through fourth grade and ended her career as the principal of a small rural school.
Deanne was married to Kent Hughes (widowed in January 2013 http://www.rogersandtaylor.com/memsol.cgi?user_id=934758 ) and is the mother of three married daughters, and has six grandchildren.
Deanne is excited to be teaching again and looking forward to experiencing many new things in China.
